In real life there are many issues of fairness and bias. Common groups that experience discrimination include those based on skin colour, age, gender, race, language, religion, culture, marital status or economic status. What about artificial intelligence? Can we trust it to be fair? Could it inherit some of the worst human traits, such as prejudice and racism? And if bias is present in AI algorithms, where does it come from?
This talk explores the main issues of fairness and bias in AI and machine learning, how to build more ethical models, and the best practices for reducing these problems.
